Willie Dial Ballard, a cherished soul from Pocahontas, gently passed away at his home on October 8, 2026. Born on September 27, 1957, to Buster and Elizabeth Burke Ballard, he filled his 69 years with love and warmth. For half a century, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Carolyn Kay Camp Ballard. He leaves behind his daughter, Amanda Kay Ballard Taylor, his son, Billy Joe Ballard, and a cherished son-in-law, Auren Taylor, whom he embraced as his own.

Willie’s spirit is fondly remembered by his siblings: brothers Richard and Dave (with Evangeline) Ballard; sisters Mary Schales, Glynda (with Jim) Miller, Bonnie (with Johnny) Johnson, and Jenny (with Tom) Freeman, along with his many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

His work spanned roles at Waterloo and Magee's, and he was known as the favorite bus driver for Maynard Schools. Willie also dedicated twenty years to running a chicken farm before retiring. A man with a big heart, he found joy in the outdoors and in music.

He was a favorite uncle, a devoted father, husband, and a man of faith whose impact will be forever cherished.
